Japanese Asters

Japanese Asters flower in August with bright reds, purples, whites and hot pinks making a really cheerful bunch.

We start by sowing seeds in Spring, pricking out thousands of little seedlings and popping them into cells were they grow on until they’re well rooted. Once ready we plant them out into our polytunnels and glasshouse with leaky pipe irrigation to keep them watered.

We pick early in the morning before the tunnels get too hot, the asters are quickly stripped and bunched, then put into water in the coldstore before being sold through out Flowers by Post service, and to local Cornish Flower Wholesalers.
