For this weeks Bouquet of the Week our Cornish Garden Bunch is a wonderful mixture of Snapdragons, Scabious, Statice and Agapanthus.

The Agapanthus is from a  local grower and the rest of this lovely bunch has been grown at Cornish Blooms.

Our Snapdragons are grown in polytunnels here on the farm and are available throughout the summer. They are grown from (tiny) seed and planted throughout the summer to give us a succession of flowers. In the summer months we pick early every morning before the polytunnels get too warm and the Snapdragons are placed straight in water and are kept in our cold store before being arranged into our bouquets.

The Scabious are also grown right here at Cornish Blooms and are planted fresh each year.  We grow 2 varieties in Purple and deep Pink and the bouquet will contain a mix of the two colours where possible.

This year we’ve grown mixed colour Statice and we have sown and planted thousands of seeds/seedlings this Spring. We cut it and send it as a fresh flower, but if you wanted to keep it for longer you can dry the stems very easily. The statice will be a mixture of colours and is most likely to be blue and purple but may have some white, pink or yellow too.

The Agapanthus are grown locally by two flower growers and come to us fresh from the fields every couple of days.  Some of this is grown by Reuben (our Winter Daffodil grower/ Spring Sweeet William grower). These beautiful summer flowers are synonymous with Cornwall and can be found in most Cornish villages and towns in the summer months.

The Cornish Garden bunch will be sent gift wrapped in our beautiful box – £29.00.
