British grown flowers by post
Mid May is a glorious time at Cornish Blooms and we are excited to share the British Flowers that we have available to send this month with Royal Mail for Nationwide flower delivery in the UK.
This month sees the end of the Spring flowers and the beginning of our late Spring/early Summer crops. After the long Winter (which can be a very cold time for us working in the flower shed!) we all really look forward to the new season and the seed sowing that comes with the better warmth and light levels.
We have multiple tunnels of Scented Pinks (which flower for us right through until October or November) and these can be sent as letterbox flowers which is a great option if a delivery cannot be accepted or safely left at the door. Although they are called ‘pinks’ their name actually comes from the ‘pinked’ edges of their petals. These lovely blooms have a

clove-like fragrance and a good vase life. We pick and send our Scented Pinks ‘in bud’ so that they open up once they arrive.
The Winter sown Nigella and Cornflower are being cut each day and may be included in a flower delivery of our Cornish Flowers Mixed Bunch. The Mixed Bunch is always a selection of all the seasonal flowers we have available on the day of sending and is great option if you’re looking for British flowers and are happy with a lovely seasonal mixture. We do a spiral hand tied version of this too in our Cornish Hand Tied Bouquet.

Maddie delivering fresh Sweet William
We are really excited to be able to offer Sweet William from local grower Maddie. Maddie’s farm is just up the road from us and she delivers to us straight from her fields, as fresh as can be. These can be sent on their own or may feature in our mixed bouquets for postal delivery across the UK. The Sweet William come in various shades of white, pink, red and purple and have a wonderful nostalgic scent.
Our Cornish Alstroemeria is grown for us by Thomas and his family at Lanoyce Nurseries near Saltash. Thomas grows his flowers in a state of the art glass house and supplies us with multiple deliveries a week of his top quality stems. These are available as a bouquet on their own or may feature in our larger arrangements Alstroemeria are the one flower we have available all year round because it is grown under glass and so the temperature can be controlled closely for a continuous flowering period.
We also have British grown Peonies available from the middle of this month too. These blousy blooms are a real show stopper! The vase life can be a little shorter (we would expect them to last approximately last 5-7 days) but they make up for it with the stunning show they put on!
